"The doors to the world of the wild Self are few but precious. If you have a deep scar, that is a door, if you have an old, old story, that is a door. If you yearn for a deeper life, a full life, a sane life, that is a door.”
-Clarissa Pinkola Estés
how I work
My approach to therapy is creative and non-traditional. The foundations of my work are rooted in Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, attachment theory and somatics, and I specialize in a process that is trauma-informed and emotion-focused. I frequently apply meditative tools and I offer cognitive-behavioral concepts when useful.
My skill set is to travel to the depths with people, and to create a safe and heartfelt attunement to your body, mind and spirit. Exploring this terrain allows us to find a trailhead to your stories, your aliveness, and what prevents you and protects you from your growth and truth.
A powerful transformation requires a true knowing of the experience inside of you…which can be uncomfortable and scary at times. Together, we will discover ways to be with all aspects of who you are and cultivate a real, trusting relationship with your Self. We will identify embodied ways for you to move through the world with more ease and we will alchemize outdated conditioning and suffering into expansion, confidence and peace.
who I work with
I work with people experiencing anxiety, depression, and insecurity. I work with people in and through their grief and trauma. I see clients diagnosed with PTSD, ADHD and OCD. I work with those navigating relationship, marital and familial issues, and those feeling lost, disconnected, misunderstood or alone. I work with those who wrestle with feelings of unworthiness or not-good-enough-ness. I work with those in deep spiritual process and those seeking transformation.
My clients are people of various backgrounds, including BIPOC, LGBTQ+ and first-generation Americans.
what my clients experience
My clients quickly discover what's underneath their patterns and use this awareness to open up to new possibilities. They process past hurts and traumas, and release the tethering and pain of those experiences. I see clients make profound meaning from their past and actively apply that towards their present circumstances and future. They unearth unwanted expectations placed on them by their families and society, and they begin to ground in their own identities and values.
My clients usually find themselves taking new risks and relating to themselves with a new curiosity - instead of judgement and shame. I often hear breakthroughs start with, "I would have never done that in the past" and "I didn't realized that until now". I see clients establish meaningful boundaries in all their relationships and recalibrate their attachment styles. I witness deep shifts in the ways my clients live inside their bodies and I frequently see people transition from self-hatred to self-affection.
